Abstract Present communication reports about potentiality of Saraca indica for its antimicrobial properties. Two enteropathogens E. coli and B. subtilis were used in the present study. Leaves of Saraca indica were used for extraction of antimicrobial agent by using six solvent phases viz., aqueous, ethanol, methanol, acetone, chloroform and ether. The screening of antimicrobial property was done by Agar Well Diffusion method. Methanolic extract exhibited the strongest activity against both bacteria Top Keywords Antimicrobial activity, Saraca indica, Agar Well Diffusion method, E.coli, Bacillus subtilis. Top | | |
