Abstract

In the current study, the viscous dissipation effect on MHD natural convective flow over an exponentially accelerated vertical plate with ramped temperature. The flow governing equations with corresponding initial and boundary conditions have been reduced into non dimensional partial differential equations by using appropriate transformations and then solved numerically by employing most efficient, well-validated and versatile numerical finite element method. In order to get some physical insight into the flow pattern, asymptotic behavior of the solution for fluid velocities and fluid temperature are analyzed graphically against different flow pertinent parameters. The variations in primary, secondary skin frictions and Nusselt number for various physical parameters are displayed in tabular form. In the absence of viscous dissipation present numerical results are compared with earlier studies and there is an excellent agreement between the results exists.
