Two series of Benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized by the condensation reaction between o-phenylenediamine and carboxylic acids in presence of ring closing agents like HCl. The chemical structures of synthesized compounds were identified by the spectral analysis. The purity of compounds was determined by thin layer chromatography (TLC). The synthesized compounds have been screened for their antimicrobial activity by paper disc method. Top Keywords Benzimidazole derivatives, characterization, microwave, antimicrobial activity. Top |
