Abstract Lemongrass oil is commercially valuable essential oil and widely used in food technology enzymatic assays such as total phenolic content, thin layer chromatography, ABTS assay of lemongrass oil are evaluated. The purpose of this investigation is to examine the bioactivity of lemongrass oil with various enzymatic inhibition assays. The present study targets the potentiality of lemongrass oil which could be the alternative approach for the treatment of chronic disease such as diabetes etc. The total phenolic content of the essential oil was analyzed Qualitatively by Thin layer chromatography and quantitatively by Total phenolic content and ABTS assay. The antioxidant property of lemongrass oil was evaluated by Total phenolic content and ABTS scavenging test. Top Keywords Lemon grass oil, Antioxidant property, Diabetes, ABTS assay, thin layer chromatography. Top |
