Online published on 9 March, 2016. Abstract A newer, simple, accurate and selective reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic method for the simultaneous determination of Albendazole and Niclosamide in bulk and oral suspension for veterinary use has been developed and validated. Chromatography was performed on a 250 mm × 4.6 mm i.d., 5 μm particle, ODS Hypersil C18 column with Acetonitrile: Phosphate Buffer 50:50 (v/v) and pH is adjusted to 7.0 using sodium hydroxide solution or Ortho phosphoric acid as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. PDA detection was done at 230 nm; Albendazole and Niclosamide were eluted with retention times of 4.91 and 7.44 min, respectively. The method was validated in accordance with ICH guidelines. Validation revealed the method is specific, rapid, accurate, precise, reliable and reproducible. Calibration plots were linear over the concentration ranges 80–120 μg/mL for Albendazole and Niclosamide. Limits of detection were 0.69 and 0.61 μg/mL and limits of quantification were 2.10 and 1.84 μg/mL for Albendazole and Niclosamide, respectively. The high recovery and low coefficients of variation confirm the suitability of the method for the simultaneous determination of these two drugs in bulk and oral suspension for veterinary use.
