Abstract A series of novel Synthesis of 1-(2-Methyl-4-oxo-4H-thiochromene-8-carbonyl)-2-arylpyrazolidine-3, 5-dione (20–35) were synthesized with different aromatic hydrazides and evaluated for Anti-inflammatory and Analgesic activity. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by TLC, FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectral data. The antibacterial and antifungal activity was performed by Broth Dilution Method. The results of antibacterial activity of the thio-chromene derivatives showed better antibacterial activity against various bacterial strains. Their antimicrobial activities against P. vulgaris, B. subtilis, S. epidermidis, P. mirabilis, M. luteus, S. aureus, S. hominis, B. pumilus, S. typhi, K. pneumonia, E. coli, B. cereus, P. aeruginosa, A. niger, A. awamori, C. albicans, A. alternate, M. canis, T. longiformis, A. flavus, F. solani, T. viride were investigated.
