Online published on 30 July, 2015. Abstract Aim This article aims to discuss the effects of non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) on pregnancy. Objective This article will create awareness about the effects of NSAIDs on pregnancy. Ackground The use of non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs has been linked to a number of complications during pregnancy. But there continues to be an increased use of NSAIDs during early gestation leading to an increase in birth defects. NSAIDs use has also been found to cause spontaneous abortion. Reason Nowadays there is an increased amount of self medication leading to an increase in the intake of NSAIDs and other common drugs.
