Abstract Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by joint swelling, joint tenderness, and destruction of synovial joints, leading to severe disability and premature mortality. Sesbania grandiflora (syn. Aeschynomene grandiflora, Agati grandiflora) also known as agati or hummingbird tree, is a small tree in the genus Sesbania. Chemical constituents are well known for their potential health benefits and have been reported to possess valuable biological activities such as antibacterial and antifungal, antioxidant, antiurolithiatic, anticonvulsant and anxiolytic, and hepato protective properties. The aim of this article is to investigate the anti arthritic activity of Sesbania grandiflora ethyl acetate extract.
