Abstract A simple, selective, rapid, precise and economical reverse phase HPLC method has been developed for the simultaneous estimation of Curcumin and Gallic acid from polyherbal dosage forms. The method was carried out on a Monolithic (C18 (10 X 4.6 mm, 5 μm)) column with a mobile phase consisting of methanol: 0.1% triflouroacetic acid at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. Detection was carried out at 296 nm. The retention time of Curcumin and Gallic acid was 3.91 and 1.90 min, respectively. The developed method was validated in terms of accuracy, precision, linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantitation. The proposed method can be used for the estimation of these drugs in combined polyherbal dosage forms. The standardization of capsule formulations was performed by determining loss on drying, total ash, acid insoluble ash, water soluble ash, alcohol soluble extractive value, water soluble extractive value etc. according to WHO guidelines.
