Online published on 22 April, 2021. Abstract The present study was to investigate total phenol and flavonoid content, the antioxidant potential of various extracts of Hyptis suaveolens whole plant using various in vitro systems were quantified by colorimetric methods. The Chloroform extract exhibited potent antioxidant activity as determined by 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), nitric oxide scavenging and ferric reducing antioxidant power assays (FRAP). The total phenolic content and flavonoid content of chloroform extract of plant was found to 86.16±0.877 and 64.66±1.201mg of GAE and Quercetin equivalents respectively. Top Keywords Hyptis suaveolens, Antioxidant activity, DPPH, Nitric oxide scavenging activity, FRAP. Top |
