Medicinal plants Targeting Alzheimer's disease -A Review

Abstract

Alzheimer's disease is associated with the leading cause of dementia worldwide. Most of the peoples suffering from dementia. Itis an age-related neurodegenerative disorder characterized by memory loss and personality change, cognition function. Various studies carry to find out the therapeutic level for an AD, so still, no proper treatment is not available, but systemic medication is useful for the memory and other dementia-related problems. During Ancient time several medicinal plants and herbal preparations are traditionally used for memory and cognition enhancer. Most of the ayurvedic medicinal plants are used to slow down the brain age and promote memory include Ashwagandha, Turmeric, Brahmi, Shankapushpi, Gotu kola, Guggulu etc. are related utilization of ayurvedic medicinal plants are mostly dependent upon traditional uses and signal transduction processes like efficacy and safety. Finally, this review will concentrate on late research finding concerning the effectiveness of different plants according to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective and enhancing properties in Alzheimer's disease.
