Abstract Hypertension is a chronic disorder where the force of the blood against artery walls is too high hypertension has several risk factors like heart disease and stroke. Alpha adducin is a hetero dimeric cytoskeleton protein which consists of an alpha subunit and either a beta sub unit or gamma subunit. The mutation in the alpha adducin subunit leads to the stimulation of sodium, potassium, and adenosine triphosphate ATPase activity in the renal tubular cells which leads to hyper tension. The native structure of alpha adducin protein is not determined. Hence the structures of native alpha adducin protein and mutated structure were developed using homology modelling. The three dimensional structures were developed using MODELLER and SWISS model. The structures are validated using procheck. These structures will be fundamental in structure prediction and also for drug discovery. Top Keywords Adducin, Modeller, Swiss model, Hypertension, Procheck. Top |
