Abstract Due to their capability to react from little to vast changes in external and internal responses ranging from physical factors like temperature and electrical field to chemical changes or modifications such as pH and glucose, intelligent or smart hydrogel have drawn extensive attention as biomimmetic structures. Smart hydrogel can be defined as that can be networked to react to external stimuli by sharp changes in the physical nature of the network. This study entitled as “Formulation of smart hydrogel beads for pharmaceutical importance” is also based upon the smart or intelligent hydrogel containing drug “bovine” containing polymers like poloxamers, poly(N-alkylacrylamide), poly(N-vinylcaprolactam), cellulose, xyloglucan, chitosan (to withstand temperature changes), poly(vinylimidazoles), poly(methaacrylic acid), poly(vinylpyridines) (for pH), modified poly(acrylamides) (to resist light reactions), sulphonated polystyrenes, polythiophenes, polyethyloxazoline (for electric field) and ethylenevinylacetate (to withstand ultrasound degradation). Hydrogel products are a group of polymeric materials whose hydrophilic composition enables them to hold big quantities of water in their three-dimensional networks. Because of their big water content, they also have degree of flexibility very comparable to natural tissue. Smart hydrogel bring the new revolution in this competitive medical era for deciding new dosage form.
