Abstract Three phase gas-liquid-solid systems are widely used by the pharmaceutical industries for the production of antibiotics such as patulin, penicillin, bacitracin etc. for which immobilized cell system or biofilms are used. During the process immobilized cells are fluidized in the liquid media using air. The present paper investigates regarding the dependency of the pressure drop on the height of liquid media present in the fluidizer. Top Keywords Immobilized cell, biofilm, fluidization, antibiotics, bioreactor. Top |
