Total four formulations (F1 to F4) were prepared by using polymers like HPMC K4M and HPMC K15M. Each polymer has been used along with two different floating agents like polypropylene foam powder (PFP) and sodium bicarbonate. In such a way each polymer has been used in two formulations. All prepared tablets were evaluated for their physicochemical properties like weight variation, friability, hardness and drug contents. Formulations F1 and F3 containing PFP as floating agent, have shown good floating properties compared to the formulations F2 and F4 containing sodium bicarbonate as floating agent. All the four formulations have controlled the drug release up to 8 hours. Top Keywords Cefditoren pivoxil, Polypropylene foam powder, gastroretentive, floating lag time, HPMC K4M. Top |
