Online published on 21 August, 2018. Abstract Background/Objectives This study examines the effects of the cool dialysis on pruritus and fatigue in hemodialysis patients. Methods/Statistical analysis The crossover design was used to evaluate the difference of the effects between the regular hemodialysis with 36.5°C and the cool dialysis with 35.5°Con relieving pruritus and fatigue. 37 participants received total 4 week hemodialysis consisted of the cool hemodialysis for 2 weeks after 2 week the regular hemodialysis. Findings The results showed that the scores of pruritus were lower than those after the regular hemodialysis. Improvements/Applications This study indicates that the cool hemodialysis is more effective on relieving pruritus and fatigue than the regular hemodialysis in hemodialysis patients.
