Abstract In the present work, ten novel 3-(4, 5-dihydro-3-(naphthalen-1-yl)-N1-substituted-pyrazol-5-yl)-1H-indole [1, 1a, 1b.1e, 2] and 3-(4, 5-dihydro-3-(pyridin-3-yl)-N1-substituted-pyrazol-5-yl)-1H-indole [5, 5a, 5b, 5e.6] were synthesized by condensation between substituted pyrazoline and substituted hydrazine in the presence of glacial acetic acid. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activity using carrageenaninduced paw oedema method and compared to the well known NSAID indomethacin as a standard drug. The entire synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and mass spectroscopy. Top Keywords Anti-inflammatory activity, Carageenan induced paw oedema method, indole, pyrazoline, indolyl pyrazoline. Top |
