Online published on 26 March, 2018. Abstract Qualitative composition and content of phenolic compounds and monosaccharides in the dry extract obtained from cherry leaves before and after hydrolysis have been studied by HPLC, with the Agilent Technologies chromatograph (model 1100) completed with continuous-flow vacuum degasifier G1379A, 4-channel pump of low pressure gradient G13111A, automatic injector G1313A, column oven G13116A, diode array detector G1316A. The chromatographic column ZORBAX-SB C-18, 2.1×150mm, filled with octadecylsilylsorbent grained 3.5 microns was used for analysis. Seven phenolic substances were found, including four hydroxycinnamic acids and three flavonoids. The total amount of phenolic compounds determined in cherry leaves dry extract was 17.10%. The extract contained 13.02% flavonoids, when hydroxycinnamic acids-4.07%. The ratio flavonoids to hydroxycinnamic acids was 3: 1. The dominant substances were isoramnetin-3-Oglycoside (5841.80 mg/100g) and rutin (3812.40 mg/100g). Free monosaccharides, such as rhamnose, glucose and galactose, were identified in the extract, and their amount was determined by HPLC with the chromatograph Agilent Technologies (model 1100) with refractometric detector. The obtained results showed the prospects of creating a new drug with anti-inflammatory activity on the basis of the cherry leaves dry extract. Obtained results will be used in standardization of cherry leaves dry extract and further pharmacological investigation of its activity.
