Synthesis and characterisation of graphene oxide supported mono and bimetallic nano particles as catalyst with anti bacterial activity

Nanoparticles have unique material characteristics, may find practical applications in a variety of areas, including medicine, engineering, catalysis and environmental remediation due to their ultrafine unit with dimensions measured in nanometres (nm; 1 nm = 10−9 metre). Nanoparticles are made by comminution (the pulverization of materials), such as through industrial milling or natural weathering, by pyrolysis (incineration), or by sol-gel synthesis (the generation of inorganic materials from a colloidal suspension). In this study two different types of graphene oxide supported two mono Ru, Pd, and a bimetallic Ru/Pd nanoparticles catalyst were synthesized. The size and shape of the products were characterized by various techniques such as: scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) field emission scanning electron microscopy with edax (FESEM-EDAX) x-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD) Raman analyses followed by kinetic study. Results proved that the newly developed graphene oxide supported bimetallic nanoparticles catalysts can be more efficient to reductive, oxidative and of environmentally important organic pollutant additionally it is also very good biologically active compound.
