Abstract Ground Water samples were collected from five bore wells located near the open dump site around 500 meters from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) of Mayiladuthurai, Tamilnadu State, India and five samples from five to ten kilometers away from Municipal Solid Waste (non-dump site) of Mayiladuthurai. The samples were collected and sent to the laboratory within six hours for analysis. The physico chemical parameters like Total Solid (TS), Total Dissolved State (TDS), pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Hardness were studied. During the study, it was determined that TDS ranges from 644 mg/l to 127 mg/l and dump sites come under 371 mg/l to 921 mg/l. Therefore the soil parameters in study area have influenced leachate migration. Top Keywords Municipal Solid Waste, Leachate, Groundwater. Top |
