It is broadly used method for separating mixtures. To separate a mixture which has different boiling points enforced into gas phase and then the gas is condensed into liquid form and collected. Distillation column is widely used in pharmaceutical industries solvents. Acetone with water has been used in this process. Based on the boiling point of the solvent they are been placed at the top end bottom end of the extraction column. Before the extraction process could be done the two solvents has to be analyzed whether it is suitable for the distillation process. This analysis is done by PHA and PSSR test. It is done so that losses such as corrosion, error, leakage etc can be avoided. The output obtained is purified solvent which depends upon the input. The entire system is been controlled by PLC and SCADA. By continuous distillation column temperature, pressure, flow and level are been measured and controlled automatically. So the advantage here is time consumption, safe environment and smoothly handled.
