Online published on 24 October, 2018. Abstract Upapluta Yonivyapad is one of the 20 Yonivyapad, which is described by Acharya Charaka, both Vagbhattas and Sarangadhara. In the present study, Sallakyadi Taila is selected for the local application inside the vaginal canal as pichu (Tampon). The present study was aimed at setting up a standard profile of, Sallakyadi Taila which was prepared using pharmacognostically authenticated raw drugs followed by subjecting it to detailed analytical study (including Thin Layer Chromatography) as per standard protocol. The observations were systematically recorded. The study conform the ingredients present in the finished product. Presence of phytochemical components (Flavonoids, Alkaloids, Tannins compounds etc.) support the intended action of the formulation in vaginal discharge.
