Abstract

The present review article includes the review of the plants which are proved with wound healing activity using various wound healing models. The Wound is defined as discontinuity in the epithelial integrity of the skin or it is a cellular, anatomic or functional discontinuity of living tissue. The wound healing is a pharmacological process consisting of integration of physical, mechanical and biochemical attributes leading to re-organization of structural and functional environment with re-establishment of strength in injured tissues. This article reviews the most recent work carried out on wound healing of medicinal plants. This is an inclusion of wound healing potential of plants, with their botanical name, family, part used, model used and references, which may be helpful for researcher for the development of new wound healing formulations for human use.
