Abstract In airline industries the applications of aluminum and aluminum alloys have increased to significant growth. With the increasing demands of the airline industries, various efforts were taken to increase modern advanced structural materials. Modern engines are developed in such a way that they result in high power capacity with low consumption of fuel. This resulted in developing a new material by adding nickel to the aluminium alloy for satisfying the above application. The effect of nickel additions on the material properties of AA7175 alloys was investigated. Attempts were made to improve the material properties by modifying the chemical compositions of AA7175 and nickel. The material properties of AA7175 are investigated by changing the composition of Ni in difeerent percentages as 0.2%, 0.4% and 0.6%.
