These fibers exhibit similar mechanical properties comparing with the fiber glass and significantly cheaper than the carbon fibers. These properties resulted in development and investigating the glass powder and basalt fibers reinforced components by using Isopthalic resin. The composite is formed by cutting basalt fibers in to short fibers and mix along with glass powder and Isopthalic resin and lamina is created. This laminate is carried out for different mechanical tests and identified significant improvement in the mechanical properties.
