Abstract This study was conducted to see whether meditator and non-meditator males and females differ on flow, compassion, psychological wellbeing and thought suppression. The sample comprised 155 participants (77 meditators & 78 non meditators), with the age range of 30–45 years. The results revealed that meditation and non-mediation groups differed significantly on flow (meditators: M=139.05; non-meditators: M=131.38) had a significant main effect on flow, [F (1,153) = 6.896, p<0.01] and the value of partial eta squared n2 = 0.04 showed medium effect size. The analysis of variance between meditation and non-meditation groups on compassion (meditators: M=119.24; non-meditators: M=100) showed a significant main effect on compassion, [F (1,153) = 33.38, p<0.01] and the value of partial eta squared n2 = 0.183 showed large effect size. The analysis of variance between the two groups on psychological wellbeing (meditators: M=192.54; non-meditators: M=172) showed a significant main effect [F (1,153) = 17.82, p<0.01] and the value of partial eta squared n2 = 0.107 showed large effect size. The analysis of variance between meditation the two groups on thought suppression (meditators: M=47.97; non-meditators: M=52.09) showed a significant main effect on it [F (1,153) =4.82, p<0.05] and the value of partial eta squared n2 = 0.031 showed small effect size. Thus, the result showed that meditators are higher on flow, compassion, psychological wellbeing and thought suppression as compared to non-meditators. As regards gender differences, males were higher on psychological wellbeing as compared to females (F= 5.20, p<0.05) and the value of partial eta squared n2 = 0.034 showed small effect size. However, there were no significant differences between genders on flow, compassion and thought suppression.
