Online published on 8 January, 2020. Abstract Mobile apps offer a possibility of scientific plant protection through ready availability of needed information to the target stakeholders. Insecticide and fungicide calculators (IFCs) of rice, cotton, pigeonpea, groundnut, tomato, soybean, chickpea, chillies, okra, cabbage, cauliflower, sugarcane, mustard, wheat, brinjal and potato have been developed as mobile apps and hosted under Google play store and their download facilitated by scan of QR codes. Developed for android phones using ‘SQLite’, Java Core, Eclipse and Linux technologies, apps provide instant guidance to select the right chemical at the right quantity (for procurement and field application) against target insect pests and diseases of specific crop. These apps are standalone once downloaded online and their architecture is simple to navigate. Features of ‘More info’ and ‘Feedback'inbuilt in IFCs help the users to know additional details and communicate with the developer. Apps are digital tools for integration with plant protection useful for researchers, extension functionaries, pesticide dealers and farmers.
