Work load on women using cono weeder in SRI method of paddy cultivation Mrunalini A., Ganesh M. ANGR Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500 030, Andhra Pradesh, India Abstract Workload of 30 women belonging to the age group of 21 to 40 years was compared during weeding with the use of Cono weeder in paddy crop grown in SRI method against conventional method of hand weeding. It was found that cono weeder enhanced the pace of work and doubled the productivity, saved time up to 76 per cent and optimized the human effort through improved postures and reduced the muscular fatigue as compared with the hand weeding process.
