The sampled leaves and roots were analysed for phytoplasma presence, using universal primers. In one tree ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma ulmi’, EU quarantine regulated pathogen, was detected and in seven trees ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma fragariae’ presence was identified in different locations: Ulmus is a new host plant for this latter phytoplasma.
