Anatomical and phytochemical studies were carried out on various parts of Morindalucida Benth. To determine its taxonomical data with regards to anatomical and phytochemical characters. Anatomical study of the transverse sections of the parts was carried out using microtomy, whereas phytochemical analysis was done using standard gravimetric and spectrophotometric methods. Analysis of variance was used to determine the level of significance, and results were presented in mean ± standard deviation. Results showed that the transverse section of various parts of the plant had similar features. The epidermal leaf study showed the presence of stomata on the abaxial surface only with paracytic stomatal type. Qualitative and quantitative results indicated varied quantities of the secondary metabolites in various parts of the plant. The obtained data can be used to enhance proper taxonomic characterisation and identification of the plant species. Results also revealed that the plant extracts are rich in valuable secondary metabolites and could be the potential sources of these phytochemicals. Its use in ethnomedicine as a medicinal plant was hence justified.
