Examining measurement of the psychological empowerment of public librarians based on the spritzer model

The purpose of this study is to investigate the psychological empowerment of public libraries librarians of Ardabil province based on the Spritzer Model and prioritize factors affecting it.

The study is descriptive based on survey. The research community consisted of 112 people; of whom 96 were studied in the census method. The data were collected through two questionnaires to measure psychological empowerment of the Spritzter model and effective factors. To analyze the obtained data, one sample t test, one-way variance analysis and Duncan's test for comparison of averages at a probability level of 0.05 and multivariate regression test to determine the most important predictors of librarians’ empowerment in the research community of the 13 components that were effective on the ability, were used.

The mean of librarians’ psychological empowerment was 5.55 meaningful career sense 26/6; competence sense 25/6; sense of autonomy 25/5; effective sense 18/5; and the sense of confidence was 81/4. In addition, the results of stepwise multivariate regression analysis showed that from the point of view of the librarians of Ardabil province among the 13 components affecting on capability, they have a greater impact on the ability of their capability to prioritize order, independence, participatory management, group formation, information provision, access to resources and arousal excitement are more effective than other components.

The research community in each of the five dimensions of empowerment was satisfactory and acceptable. It can be said that librarians of public libraries in Ardebil province have a good psychological ability.
