Abstract Today world is moving at a fast pace, however the widening economic gaps, and digital disparities are the matter of concerns. The digital divide has been identified as one of the distressing problems of the 21st century in the present economic and technological development. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) influences every significant aspect of our life, including the way we learn. The ICT may be a disabler for many, who either do not have access to these resources or do not have the awareness and skills to use new technologies in a public space. This article is based on the review of available primary and secondary literature and authors have tried to understand the issues related to digital divide, digital/information literacy, digital resources, and the role of librarians in bridging the gap of the digital divide.
