Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana- 141 004, India *Department of Veterinary Parasitology Abstract The present clinical report is the description of first case of severe chronic cattle diarrhoea associated with Balantidium coli infection in Punjab state of India which was successfully treated with a combination of metronidazole and tetracycline. The efficacy of drugs was estimated on the basis of disappearance of clinical signs and absence of cysts/trophozoites in faeces of animal.
