Plant Pathology Section, College of Agriculture,Nagpur Dr.Panjabrao Deshrnukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola (Ms) Abstract Efficacy of four different bio-agents (Trichoderma harzinum, T. viride, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis) and ten botanicals viz. Neem (Azadirachta indica), Custard apple (Annona squamosa), Lantana (Lantana camara), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus spp), Marigold (Tagetes spp), Tamarind (Tamarindus indicus), Kanher (Neerium indium), Garlic (Allium sativum), Datura (Datura metel), and Congress grass (Parthenium hysterophorus) were evaluated against the Alternaria macrospora causing leaf spot of cotton in in vitro. Among four bio-agents, T. harzianum was found superior as compared to others as inhibited the growth by 76.66% followed by Bacillus subtilis (73.66%). The percent inhibition of botanicals ranged from 44.59 to 8.25%. Lantana and Datura were found effective as it restricted 44.59 and 30.88% respectively. Botanicals like Tamarinds found least effective as it prohibited the growth by 8.25% only. Top Keywords Alternaria macrospora, bio-agent and botanicals.. Top |
