Abstract Recent advances in the development of scientific basis for deformation processing have provided a new perspective on the traditional study of microstructure-property relationship. It is now realized that rolling parameters can be selected to control final microstructure and properties in addition to shape and conforming to workability limit. The research reported here is a part of what is possible in the way of detailed examination of these processes using modem finite element computational tool. ANSYS multipurpose software has been applied to evaluate the complete stress and strain distribution in rolling process. In this paper, the results of subsequent investigations of deformation induced microstructure of SS304 is reported. Top Key words Deformation of metals, Flow-stress, Strain, Strain-rate, Strain-hardening, Normal roll pressure, Horizontal roll pressure. Top | | | |
