Abstract

Social media is an extensive phenomenon focused on 3Cs i.e. connecting, collaboration and communication. Huge significance of social media in the life of students elicit teachers to sightsee the educational benefits of using this platform in the classroom. However, instructors still scuffle with the stiffness between pedagogical benefits and tempting distraction with the use of social media. The present paper is an attempt to focus on the educational opportunities elaborated through Bloom’s taxonomy in the usage of social media inside the classroom. The study will highlight the different social media arguments with each component of Bloom hierarchy and strategic tools for discussing through the teaching-learning process. The study reveals that social media helps in creating an active learning environment. It may help in facilitating discussion in the classroom by acting as a source for learning inside and outside class.
