Abstract

The soil nutrients under natural and planted stands are discussed for better understanding of maintaining nutrient status of soilfor better productivity. The results show that the natural forests should be protected from biotic interference as the quest for planting of high value plantation crops following replacement of natural forest reduced the annual litter production and total as well as available nutrient pool.
