Abstract This study describes the effects of pH and temperature on larval survival and development time of Culiseta longiareolata. Solutions ranging from pH 3 to 13 and temperatures of 15, 20 and 30°C were employed and results revealed that the Cs. longiareolata larvae tolerated pH between 6 and 12; solutions with lower or higher pH killed L1 and L4 larvae. The developmental time of Cs. longiareolata immature lasted 30 ± 1.41, 27.33 ± 0.88 and 24.5 ± 1.20 days at 15, 20 and 30°C, respectively.
