Abstract The macropterous genus Psammotettix belongs to subfamily Deltocephalinae and tribe Paralimnini Distant, is common grassland inhabitant of the different parts of the world. This genus is represented by four species from India viz., Psammotettix emarginata Singh, P. provincialis Raubaut, P. regularia Singh and P. striatus (Linnaeus). The genus has been reported for the first time from Manipur and Maharashtra. It was earlier reported from Uttarakhand and New Delhi.
