Abstract

Geranium oil was most effective against 10-days old larvae of Corcyra cephalonica with the lowest LD50 of 0.0891 μlcm−2 followed by lemongrass (0.1033) and peppermint (0.1044). Peppermint oil at 250 ppm (0.0127 μlcm−2) gave the maximum hatching inhibition of 89.33 per cent and in the grain treatment, the maximum mortality with no damage was observed with peppermint oil at 2.5 mlkg−1 of grains followed by 96.67 and 95.00 per cent in lemongrass and geranium at the same dose, respectively.
