Kitchen elecfrlcal equipment -gift of technology to women Mehrotra N., Kaur Manjeet Department of FRM, College of Home Science, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana -141 001, India. Abstract The present study alms to find out the possession of electrical kitchen equipment among working women, to examine their attitude towards these equipment and factors affecting the purchase. The sample consisted of 120 working women of three randomly selected localities of Ludhiana city viz., Agar Nagar, Sarabha Nagar and B.R.S. Nagar. The data were collected through an interview schedule. The results revealed that the Blenders, mixers, refrigerators, grinders were possessed by majority of the respondents, while food processor, cooking range, microwave oven were owned by few only. Regarding attitude, it was observed that majority of them hekl positive attitude for the use of these equipment like time saving, easy to use, make life comfortable, give quality product and help in maintaining cleanliness. Price was the prime factors considered for the purchase of these, while durability, brand, warranty, discount, design of the equipment and availability of spare parts were also considered. Top |
