Achieving Excellence Through Human Resource Development

Summary

Human resource Development in India has established its roots due to growth of professional organization and professionally managed institutes. In the last 4–5 decades concept of systematic management and goal orientation has established in Indian organizations. The managers are now convinced as to the need for being focused and target oriented to attain the ultimate goal or organizational excellence. Most of the organizations find it difficult to stand in competition for want of core competence and wining edge philosophies. The conventional approach of the organizations to meet the changes of survival, competition and growth has not yielded the expected results. Therefore it has become essential that the organization should look at the process of development from a different perspective. The key to success in this dynamic environment is to nurture employees and other human resources. Unless and until the organization cultivates the philosophy of excellence through human resource development, the long term goals and success cannot be achieved. The present paper discusses what should be the policy of the organizations towards human resource development in this changing and challenging world. What are the new treads in organizational development and how these organizations can work for the employee development?
