Role of social entrepreneurship in fostering sustainable development through women empowerment: case studies of Adithi (Bihar) and Stree Mukti Sanghatana (Maharashtra)

Abstract

This research paper presents and analyses the problems of the society with reference to the process of development involving the issues related to the empowerment of women. Human welfare can be promoted through social justice. Women’s empowerment towards sustainable development can be ensured through the efforts of social entrepreneurs and NGOs/Voluntary organizations. Towards this objective the necessity for a change in the role of these organizations has been consistently emphasized through two case studies analyzed in this paper.
