Management of Filariasis in Asian Elephants (Elephus msaximus)

Abstract

Elephants suffer from cutaneous filariasis or haemorrhagic filariasis or parasitic dermatorrhagia caused by Indofilaria pattabiramani and I. elephantis respectively. The paper reports nodules in one female elephant having nodule formation causing itching and oozing of blood. The female elephant was treated with Ivermctin successfully.
