Department of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Rajgad Dnyanpeeth's College of Pharmacy, Bhor-Pune, Maharashtra, Pin-412206 Abstract Thiocolchicoside a natural anti-inflammatory glycoside. It is the semi-synthetic derivative of the colchicine. It is a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. It works through selective binding to the GABA-A receptor. It prevents muscle contractions by activating the GABA inhibitory motor pathway. The article summarizes analytical method including the chromatographic method, LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-mass spectroscopy), HPLC, GC-MS (Gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy), HPTLC and UV-Visible spectrophotometry techniques for estimation of Thiocolchicoside in biological samples, bulk and pharmaceutical formulation.
