Online published on 26 September, 2019. Abstract The stunting of children is a problem that is happening in Indonesia. Stunting can be caused by several factors, one of which is the feeding pattern of the child applied by the mother. The purpose of this study was to analyse the factors related to feeding patterns on children with stunting. This research design used a cross sectional study. There were 136 respondents (mother and toddlers) in this study who were chosen by simple random sampling. The independent variables were knowledge, attitude, personal reference, and income, while the dependent variable was feeding patterns. The data were collected by Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) questionnaire then analysed by using ordinal regression. The result showed that there were relationships between health workers and posyandu cadres (p=0.001), and income (p=0.00) with feeding patterns. It can be concluded that the feeding patterns in children with stunting could be influenced by health workers, posyandu cadres and parent's income. Income was the most influential factor with the pattern of feeding (estimated 15.4). This was because the higher the income, the greater the variety of food items that could be purchased by the mother. Personal references were used to enhance preventive and promotive efforts to provide health education to the mother. Top Keywords Stunting, feeding pattern, behaviour, children. Top |
