Abstract In 21st century India women are increasingly being educated and joining more and more working lives this century has brought in its trail a new hope for women. Dramatic changes have happened in the role, ambitions and attitude of women in the last few decades of twentieth century. Women have department from their traditional role of reproducers, mothers and wives only. From a non-entity, they have been able to establish an identity of their own in the modern society, but till they are subjected to different kinds of domestic violence like wife beating‟ bride burning, mental and physical abuse, marital rape, dowry death etc. All these are widespread in our society and women are facing unequal treatment in every field of the society1, 2. According to the statistics held by national crime records bureau the crime against women is committed every 3 min. women are raped every 29 min and dowry death happened occurs every 77 min. Women's rights issues in India: Child marriage. In Indian villages girls 70% are married before the age of 18 and 56% of those girl married bear children before the age of 19. Women's rights issues in India: Sexual harassment. According to statistic only 20% cases are reported3. Aims and Objectives (1) To assess the knowledge regarding laws for women's rights in India among people working in selected private organization at Mehasana district. (2) To assess the effectiveness of self instructional module on knowledge regarding laws for women's rights in India among people working in selected private organization at Mehsana district. (3) To find out the association between knowledge regarding laws for women's rights with their selected demographic variables. Hypothesis H1 There is significance difference between the pretest and posttest knowledge after implementing self instructional modules. H2 There is no significance association between knowledge with selected demographic variables. Material and Methods In this research study Quantitative approach was used and Pre-experimental one group pre test post test design was used. Data was collected from 100 Sample with Structured knowledge Questionnaire was used to assess the level of knowledge among peoples who are working in private organization at Mehsana City. Result Regarding level of knowledge, in pretest 3% had poor level of knowledge on laws for women rights. 45% had average level of knowledge, 52% had good level of knowledge and 0% of excellent level of knowledge on laws for women's rights. During post test 0% had poor knowledge on laws for women rights. 1% had average knowledge, 69% had good knowledge and 30% had excellent knowledge on laws for women rights. There was a significant difference in the level of knowledge which led to a change in the category of 62 level of knowledge, i.e. some of them in poor category during pretest had moved to average, good and excellent category during posttest. With regard to effectiveness of self instructional module regarding laws for women rights among people who are working in selected private organization at Mahesna district, The obtained “t” value for level of knowledge is 4.74 which is no significant at <0.05 level. Conclusion This shows the imperative need to understand the utilities of self instructional module in improvement of knowledge regarding laws for women rights and it will improve the nursing knowledge and nursing practice.
