Online published on 18 September, 2017. Abstract Neonatal jaundice is a common problem affecting over half of all full term and most of the preterm infants. Jaundice is noticed during the first week of life after birth. Health care providers need to be familiar with the diagnosis and management of jaundice to prevent brain, vision and hearing damage. The main aim of this study was to assess the knowledge of staff nurses regarding Neonatal jaundice and its management in selected hospital at Mysuru. A descriptive survey was adopted. The samples consist of 60 staff nurses were selected using non probability convenience sampling technique from selected hospital. The data collection tool considered of a personal profile and structured questionnaire to assess the level of knowledge. Content validity of the structured knowledge questionnaire was established after consultation with subject experts. Reliability of tool was done by using split half method and found 0.82 and the tool was found reliable. The study shows that 35% of the samples belong to the age group between 21–30 years and majority of 91.66% samples have completed General nursing and 35% were working in NICU. 30% of staff nurses had 1–3 years of experience and 86.67% of staff nurses have not undergone any in-service education. The structured knowledge score ranged from 6–28. The mean structured knowledge score is 19.33 with standard deviation ±4. Majority of the staff nurses had average knowledge 51.66% regarding neonatal jaundice. There was no significant association found between level of knowledge of staff nurses and their selected personnel variables expect years of experience.
