Collection of local history document in public library: Role of library professionals in collection, organization, and effective use

Abstract

The present paper tried to highlight the importance of local history document collection in the public library arena. It discusses the divergent sources of local history documents and acquisition, organization, preservation of those documentary heritages in a public library. The current study has also tried to mention a few procedural approaches towards dissemination of effective services based upon those collected local history documentary heritage. The role of library professionals in the area of collection, organization, and use has been discussed also.
