Online published on 29 September, 2021. Abstract The article is a scientometric study of the research output of SPPU based on selective scientometric parameters. The research output indexed in Web of Science during 2001–2020 has been used for the study. The study revealed that there is a consistent increase in relative growth rate and decline in doubling of publications during the study period. The top fifteen subject categories displayed the dominance of the science and technology discipline. The authors from SPPU mostly collaborated with the authors within the institutions in India. Finally, an attempt is made to test Lotka's law on the research output of SPPU during 1989–2020. It was found that Lotka's law did not fit over the authors’ distribution.
